One of the things that most people don't talk about is how to dispose of LED lights properly. This topic hasn't really come about yet because of the extended life of LEDs. On a rare occasion, you may come across a faulty light and want to know how to get rid of it. Here are a few ways how:
- Your garbage can; Because there are no harmful chemicals in LED lights, you can simply toss them. Although we do recommend you recycle them, you will be causing no harm by tossing them.
- You can recycle these where you recycle your small appliances; Becuase LEDs are made up of electronic components (diodes, etc) they can be simply treated as an electronic device.
- Consider taking apart your light and recycling the different materials individually. It may take a little extra effort, but it ensures it is being recycled in the most efficient manner.
You can always contact your local recycling company and ask how they deal with LED lights if any of these ways don't work for you.
